MILITARY SERVICE OF CHARLES B. FISHER:
Mustered in as a Private with Company K, 47th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on 17 September 1861. Mustered out at the expiration of his term of service on 18 September 1864. Major Engagements with the 47th Pennsylvania during his term of service: Defense of Washington, D.C. (Fall 1861); Battle of Pocotaligo, South Carolina (October 1862); Union General Nathaniel Banks' Red River Campaign across Louisiana (as part of the only Pennsylvania Regiment so engaged from March to May 1864).

Re-enlisted with Company A, 74th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on 4 March 1865. Mustered out on 29 August 1865. Rank: Sergeant.
