Born Ira Amos Sly, he changed his family name to Schley after his marriage.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Ira Amos Schley, 67, Ririe farmer and sheepman, died in a local hospital Monday afternoon after a brief illness.

Mr. Schley was born May 16, 1882, at Aurora, Utah. He came to Idaho 46 years ago, settling at LaBelle, Idaho and there married Marion Gallup on August 10, 1905.

He was a master mechanic for the Utah-Idaho Sugar Co at Lincoln and later at Shelley for many years, but for the past 25 years had lived at Ririe and had been in the sheep and farming businesses.

He is survived by his widow; a son and a daughter: Wayne Schley and Mrs. Beulah Clapp, both of Idaho Falls; seven grandchildren, and two sisters and a brother; Calvin Schley, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Susie Samson and Mrs. Effie Justensen, both of Delta, Utah

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday in the Ririe Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Arlo Moss officiating. Burial will be in the Annis Cemetery under direction of the Wood Mortuary, Idaho Falls.
