John Snodgrass marries Rachel Stuthard on 20 Aug 1843 in Parke, Indiana.
They had three children together:
Alice Snodgrass 1844 - 1863
Esther Snodgrass 1848- 1829
William Snodgrass 1849 - 1930 (memorial #11929231)

John Snodgrass went to the California Goldrush and he appears in the 1850 Federal Census in Yuba Co., California and then is never heard from again.

The family legend states that John was killed for his gold claim by his then partner.

Rachel then marries John's brother George in 1855 and they remain married until George's death in 1890
