Mrs. Marion E. (Sadie Louise) Dodson, 81, former long-time resident of Tulare, died in her Visalia home Sunday after a lengthy illness.

She and her husband had resided in the Tulare area for some 40 years until a few years ago, when they moved to Visalia.

She was born in Goshen, Ark. The Dodsons operated three general stores and farmed in the Goshen area before first going to Visalia in 1917. They move to Tulare two years later and stayed until moving back to Visalia in 1958.

Survivors Include her husband, one son, Shannon M. Dodson, Visalia; a daughter, Mrs. Ova Danielson, Riverdale; three grandchildren, Linda and Janet Dodson, both of Visalia, and Mrs. Loraine Hiett, Fresno, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hadley Funeral Chapel, Visalia, with the Rev. Kenneth Sanders of the Missionary Baptist Church, La Habra, officiating. Burial in Visalia Cemetery will follow.
