Elsie M Gustafson, 98, of Santa Barbara Calif. passed away Saturday, July, 19, 2003, at Beverly LaCumbre Nursing Home.
Elsie was born Dec. 26, 1904, in Douglass Township,Stanton,
to John and Beda Johnson Gustafson. She grew up in the Douglass Township area and graduated from Stanton High School and later attended Moody Bible Institute. She worked several years at the Mel Trotter Mission in Grand Rapids. She also worked as a translator, teacher and missionary in Sweden. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alburr "Gus" Gustafson; and two sisters Ellen Rickard and Eva Crooks. She is survived by nephew and his wife, Norman and Diane Crooks of Stanton; and three nieces, Margaret Clark of Holland, Dorothy Rasmussen of Florida and Caroline Klingbeil of North Carolina. A graveside service is 11:30
a.m. Friday at McBride Cemetery, McBride, with Pastor Larry
Beasinger officiating. Memorial contributions may
be made to Gideon Memorial Bible, Box 545, Stanton, Mich.
