LeRoy Buckmaster, 73, of Fife Lake, formerly of Greenville,
passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, July 19, 2003,
at his home in Kalkaska County. The son of Roscoe and Bertha Lea Buckmaster, he was born July 21, 1929, in Dark County, Ohio. On April 5, 1947, in Stanton, he married Eleanor P Martin. He worked as a mechanic most of his
life at Extruded Metals in Belding and Heavy Equipment in
Greenville and Cedar Springs. A life member of Greenville
Masonic Lodge 96 F&AM, "Buck" was a 32nd degree Mason
and was past master of the Greenville lodge, in addition to
being a member of the Scottish Rite, the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Trufant and the Saladin Shrine Temple. He also belonged to the Midway and Paul
Bunyon Shrine clubs and was an honorary member of Lake City
Masonic Lodge.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Davis and Margaret Maxine Shelest; and brother, Luther Buckmaster. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor Buckmaster; their five children, Donald and Suann Buckmaster of Interlochen, Darrell and Bonnie Buckmaster, Daniel Buckmaster, Deborah and Gary Cook, Douglas Buckmaster, all of Greenville; three sisters-in-
law, Sylvia VanderSchuur of Greenville, Edna and William
Myers of Baton Rogue, La.,Berniece Haight of Evart; 13
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
