Our beloved mother Nedra Jean Hill Abbott, 69, passed away on December 21, 2008 after a prolonged and valiant perseverance the past 12 years with kidney failure. Born March 9, 1939 in Colusa, California to DeMont D. and Lucy M. Eaton Hill.

She grew up happily playing in the foothills of Loma Rica, California. Following her graduation from Yuba City High School, and some homemaking courses at the local community college, she met and married Gary Lee Abbott on May 17, 1958 in the Los Angeles California Temple. They resided in California, Nevada, and Lehi, Utah.

Residing in Lehi for over 35 years, they loved being close to family and friends, truly enjoying life, residing here until their deaths.

They were the parents of two sons, Robert and Duane, one daughter, Marla. Mom and dad loved spending time with family and many summers were spent camping and taking family trips. Nedra was a homemaker, but did work out of the home in earlier years doing odd jobs. She worked in the cannery, bakery and as a seamstress. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with membership in the Lehi 4th Ward. She held many different church callings in her life.

Nedra was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, a brother, a sister and parents. She is survived by her children, Marla K. Peterson, Pleasant Grove, Robert L. Abbott and Duane L. Abbott, Lehi, grandchildren, Natalie (Jonathan) Ellis, Robert E. Abbott, Adam V. Peterson, Kristen Peterson, two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Jaxon Ellis, sister, Dela (Ralph) Abel, brothers, DeMont L Hill, Dale E Hill and Alma (Roseann) Hill.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lehi East LDS Stake Center, 900 North 1200 East. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the Stake Center. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
