ELKHART -- Marion L. Lentine, 75, of Lake Drive, Elkhart, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 13, 2006) in Elkhart General Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Evanston, Ill., to James and Ruth (Rosencrans) Higgins. She married Santino J. Lentine on Dec. 31, 1955, in Mishawaka.

He survives, along with two sons, James (Peggy Dutrieux) Lentine and Paul Lentine, both of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two daughters, Theresa Haas (Welden Bell) of Osceola and Ruth Ann (Danny) Randall of Goshen; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, James Edmond (Carolyn) Higgins of New Carlisle, and Tom (Evelyn) Higgins and Larry (Meg) Higgins, both of South Bend.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lentine, and a grandson, James Lentine Jr.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friends also may call from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Friday Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 U.S. 12 East, Edwardsburg, Mich. with the Rev. Joe McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Adamsville Cemetery.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Lentine was owner and operator of the Blue Room and Santino's Restaurant in Elkhart for 32 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, where she was in the Rosary Society. A member of the Gypsy Rovers Camping Club, she and her husband spent their winters in Donna, Texas, for the past 15 years.

Memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
