Gods Angels came down and took Kim Newton, 49, to a better place on September 22, 2011 at her home in Puryear, Tennessee. Born July 29, 1962 in Marshall County, she was a 1981 graduate of Calloway County High School, a member of Ferguson Springs Baptist Church, and was a cosmetologist.
She is survived by her parents, Ben T. and Emma Orr Newton of Murray; two sisters, Nell Gartman and husband George of Kyle, TX, Glee Mikus and husband Bob of Wisconsin; Robert Newton of Allenwood, PA, and John Newton of Florida; her partner, Keith Colley and his daughter Nikki; a neice, Lindsay Gartman; nephews Cody Gartman, Benjamin Newton, Joe Hyde, Pete Hyde, and Brian Hyde; great-nieces Mckayla Hyde, Katelin Gartman, and Rileigh Newton; great nephews Reagan Newton and Pete Hyde. She is also survived by her faithful pet and companion Buster.
Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, September 25th at the Ferguson Springs Baptist Church. Bro. James Keeling will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ferguson Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday.
