WILLIAM HENRY (BILLY) ABEL
Billy Abel, son of James T. and Martha Ellis Abel, was born near Humeston, Iowa, Nov. 24, 1894, and passed away at the Wayne County Hospital Sunday, March 30, 1958, at the age of 63 years, four months and six days.
On Nov. 16, 1912, he was united in marriage to Abbie Coy McCullough of Cambria, and to this union seven children were born: Maxine Lowe, Reva Richman, Harold, Leonard, Dale, James and Calvin, all of whom live in or near Humeston.
He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be sadly missed, especially by his grandchildren, who adored their grandpa Bill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Claude and Boyd. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Abbie; seven children; five daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Roy of Millerton and Jess of Cambria; three sisters, Maude of Stonington, Ill., Carrie and Easter of Humeston; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Humeston Baptist church Tuesday afternoon, April 1, with the Rev. B. E. Nielsen officiating. Pallbearers were Rex Williams, Milo McCullough, Glenn Coffey, Gene Abel, Marvin Abel and Earl Coffey.
Imogene Kinnear and Gilbert Garton, accompanied by Audrey Dent, furnished the music. Ina Reed, Katie Roberts and Katherine Coffey were in charge of flowers.
Final rites were made at the graveside by members of the Odd Fellows lodge. Interment was in the Humeston cemetery.
