AKERS, Mabel Irene Gibson, 72, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, March 1, 1996 in a local hospital. She was retired from ITT and was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Lee Akers Jr. Survivors include her husband, Ralph L. Akers; two daughters, Nancy L. Childress and Kaye Weddle both of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Donald Lee Catron Sr., Sherry Mitc hell, Patricia Jeffries, Melissa Light, Lisa Kaye Clevenger; three great-grandchildren, Donald Lee Catron Jr., Nickie and Jeremy Mitchell; one sister, Katherine Weeks. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
