The Bobbitt Family In America Book lists James Bobbitt dying in 1868, he was very much alive at that time. They even contradict themselves a few paragraphs down when they list him in the 1870 census with his wife Sara. I have also inspected Carroll Co. TN court records involving land sales in 1877- Dec. 1878 which indicate that he is still living. He is not in the June 1, 1880 census and Sara is living with her son, M. P., listed as a widow. So James Bobbitt died some time between Dec. 1878 and June 1, 1880. James was my ggggrandfather through his son, Stephen. Are you a Bobbit relative? Toni KeeMedina, Gibson Co., TN
