Wanda Fay Odum Moreland of Odum, Ga. and Midway, Ga. died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Coastal Manor in Ludowici, Ga. after an extended illness. The Wayne County, Ga. native was a long time resident of Washington, D.C. where she worked as a beautician in the U.S. Senate Office Building Beauty Salon. Many female U.S. Senators, such as Margaret Chase Smith from Main would come to her house on weekends to have their hair styled. After retirement, she spent her remaining years on Pamona Lake in Midway, Ga. Wanda was loved and will be missed dearly by many friends and family members. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Ernest G. Moreland, Sr.
Survivors are 3 sons, Ernest (Catherine) Moreland, Jr. Ronnie, and Wayne Moreland; a granddaughter, Maryann (Marc) Patrick; 2 great grandchildren, Trenton and Bradley Patrick.
Memorial services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Fl 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601.
