Thelma Irene Duesenberry, 69, of the 1400 block of Hazel Ave., died April 23, 1999, at a local hospital.
Born in Zanesville, Ohio, she was a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church where she was one of the original founding members.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Chester L. Duesenberry; two daughters, Tina R. Jones and her husband, Jesse L. Jones Jr. and Cynthia I. O'Neal and her husband, Mark S. O'Neal, all of Chesapeake; two sons, Bruce A. Duesenberry and his wife, Robin, of Suffolk and Gregory L. Duesenberry and his wife, Pamela G., of Cary, N.C.; six granddaughters, Carey, Shannon, Jennifer, Karen, Rachael and Nicole; and three grandsons, Gregory, Kenneth and Samuel; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church, 2430 Azalea Garden Road, Norfolk, by Pastor Fred Bates Jr. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling arrangements.
