LON C. BARKER RITES SCHEDULED THURSDAY
DICKINSON Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Misschel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson for Lon C. Barker, 85, Dunn Center, who died Monday in the Beach Hospital.
The Rev. Donald F. Burton win officiate and pall bearers will be George Lynch, Gilman Knuston, Morris and Norman Kundsvig, Harold Howard, and Walter Pelton. Burial will be made in the Dunn Cemetery Cemetery.
Born May 12, 1882 in Corning, Iowa, the son of George Barker and Mary Melissa Bean. Mr. Barker grew up near Carbon, Iowa and received his education there. He came to Mercer County with his parents in 1906 and homesteaded two miles northeast of Dodge until his marriage to Gertrude Marie Hamblin September 8, 1934.
They moved to the Dunn Center community where he had made his home since.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Barker leaves four daughters, Mrs. Willian (Delma Cook, Alameda, California; Mrs. Thomas (Vesta) Botz, Berkeley, California; Mrs. George (Murieal) Klups, Detroit, Michigan; and Cynthia at home; two sons, David, Springfield, Oregon and Charles at home, and 12 grandchildren.
