HAGAMAN, Edward Edward C. Hagaman, age 87, of Athens, passed away April 18th, 2008. Mr. Hagaman, originally from Rockford, Il, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1947 and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1943-1952 serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He received the Bronze Star for valor and heroism during his WWII service. Mr. Hagaman was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Athens Country Club, and was active in the Athens Area Kiwanis Club holding various offices including Lt. Governor of the Georgia Kiwanis. He was a real estate broker for many years in Athens with Morocco Realty Co. Mr. Hagaman was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Marie Hagaman. Mr. Hagaman is survived by his brother; a son & a daughter; 3 grandchildren: He was a wonderful father, avid golfer, and perennial jokester. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26 at 1:30 P.M. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Alps Rd, Athens, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, April 25th from 6:30 - 8:30 at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Bogart, Georgia, 30622. Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
