He died in auto accident when his Volkswagen Beetle hit the blade of a bulldozer that was parked on the grassy median of the highway with the blade raised and facing traffic. (b. Jersey Journal on August 14, 1976: "Henry Dahl, 38, Accident Victim. Services will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Newark-Pompton Plains, for Henry Dahl, 38, a resident of West Milford. He died yesterday at Chilton Hospital, Pompton Plains as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident a week ago. A lifelong resident of Jersey City until moving to West Milford four years ago, he was a field manager for IBM in Newark for 17 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial fund of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. The Richards Funeral Home of West Milford is in charge of arrangements."

Dahl Jr., 38, of Macopin Road, died Friday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson as a result of injuries suffered in an auto accident August 4. Born in Jersey City, he was a resident there before moving to this township four years ago. Mr. Dahl was employed as a field manager at IBM in Newark the past 17 years. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Pompton Plains. Interment will be Monday in Cedar Heights Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Lynn; three sons, David, Craig, and Mark, and two daughters, Diana and Toni Lynn, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Edith Dahl of Waymart, Pennsylvania; and two brothers, Karl of Jersey City, and Edward of Waymart, Pennsylvania."
