Mrs. Joyce L. Bode Clampitt, 85, of Seymour passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at The Waters of Seymour.
Born March 21, 1926 in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Jim and Della Alexander Jaynes.
On April 29, 1998, she married Albert Clampitt in Illinois.
Joyce was a member of Seymour Christ Temple. She had worked at Noltings IGA and retired after 15 years from Jay C Foods Plus Store. Mrs. Clampitt enjoyed cooking, gardening, and her flowers. Her greatest enjoyment and love was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Albert, daughter, Judy Kay Trapp Hunnicutt Woodson, son, James (Joan) Bode, step-children, Bonnie (Kenny) England, Sharon (Claude) Bowers, and Kenny Jo (Terri) Clampitt. Grandchildren, Kimba (Chester) Applegate and John (Jeni) Hunnicutt, step- grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Voss, Dana Freese, Kelsey Bowers, Zach Bowers, Eva England and Chris England. Mrs. Clampitt is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, sixteen step great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and six step great-great-grandchildren. Joyce's survivors include her sisters, Louise Pearson and Madelyn (Frank) Kiser, sisters-in-laws, Carolyn Thompson and Cathy Callahan and brother-in-law, Dick (Betty) Clampitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Ermil Trapp, Robert Bode, and John Pavlik and brother, Donald Jaynes.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Voss Chapel with Rev. Dennis Allman and Rev. Dennis Allman II officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
Visitation will be at Voss Chapel on Friday, September 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Memorials may be given to Seymour Christ Temple Building Fund or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.
