Wanda Sue Chase, nee Hodges, beloved wife of Don: loving mother of Dianna, Daniel, Deborah, Donna, and David; and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in Apple Valley, California on September 17, 2011 after a sudden collapse.

Sue moved from her birthplace in Pear Valley near Brady, Texas to Los Angeles, California during the 1940's with her mother Alice and sister Mary.

She attended high school and went to work for Trans World Airlines where she met Don Chase. They married on August 24, 1949 and moved to Santa Monica, California, where they raised their five children.

Later, she and Don moved to their cabin in Pine Mountain Club, California, where they enjoyed retired life and a continued loving relationship until Don's death in 1997. She moved to Oxnard, California, where she enjoyed her garden and visits from her friends and family.

Sue was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, and needle-worker and excelled as a competitive rifle-shooter with many awards and records to her credit. Sue was a wonderful wife and mother and will be greatly missed and always loved.

Funeral services are planned for Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, 11160 Stranwood Avenue, Mission Hills, California.
