NEW BLOOMFIELD - Lillian H. Hoffman, 85, of New Bloomfield passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in Harrisburg Hospital.
Lillian was born June 17, 1926 in New Bloomfield and was the daughter of Melvin and Carrie Hartzell.
She was a life-long resident of New Bloomfield. She was an excellent cook and retired as cafeteria supervisor of West Perry Elementary School. She was one of the oldest members of New Bloomfield United Methodist Church. She had been an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of New Bloomfield Fire Co., a member of AARP and the Pennsylvania Association of School Employees. She enjoyed Sunday afternoons playing Rummy with her sister Grace as well as reading and watching the "game channel."
She was the widow of Delbert E. Hoffman (1978) and is survived by three sons, Gary Hoffman and wife Twila of Millerstown, Steven Hoffman and wife Catherine of Harrisburg and Reed Hoffman and wife Barbara of Newport. A daughter, Tracey Sudia and husband Michael of Dauphin. Two sisters, Grace Rice of Duncannon and Mary Kitner of New Bloomfield, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the New Bloomfield United Methodist Church. Her Pastor, Rev. Robert Rice, will officiate. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery. Friends may call at church on Sunday, one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in celebration of Lillian's life to New Bloomfield United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 96, New Bloomfield, PA 17068.
The family extends a sincere "thank you" to the caregivers at Perry Village, Harrisburg Hospice of Central Pennsylvania and Sue Robinson of Angels on Call, for their kind and loving care.
