He was born to Elijah and Elva Boyd Baker of Killeen. He owned several businesses including Heights Nursery, Bakers Topsoil and Bakers Locksmith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Sallie Prater Baker; and a daughter, Judith.
Survivors include three children, Teresa Baker of Belton; Les Baker of Harker Heights; and Lydia Countess of Colorado; a brother, Elijah J. Baker of Killeen; a sister, Virginia Pool of Tyler; a stepfather, Eugene Adams of Temple; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services for Charles E. Baker, 76, of Killeen and Troy, Mont., will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Baptist Church of Killeen. Mr. Baker died March 25, 2011. He was born Jan. 31, 1935, to Elijah Baker and Elva Boyd Baker of Killeen. He owned several businesses, including Heights Nursery, Baker's Topsoil and Baker's Locksmith.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Sallie Prater Baker; a sister, Faye Rogers of Killeen; and a daughter, Judith.
Survivors include his brother; Elijah J. Baker of Killeen; a sister, Virginia Pool of Tyler; stepfather, Eugene Adams of Temple; three children; Teresa Baker of Belton; Les and Paula Baker of Harker Heights; and Lydia and Clem Countess of Colorado; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
