Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Sarah (Rosenthal) Katzen. She was a member of Beth David Synagogue of West Hartford and she was the cemetery chairman of the Teferes Israel Synagogue Cemeteries. Mrs. Darling was a life member of Hadassah and the Auxiliary of the Hebrew Home & Hospital in West Hartford. She was also a member of Jewish Women International.
She leaves a son, Bruce P. Darling and his wife Anne of North Granby; a daughter, Debra Lurie and her husband Jonathan of Weston, MA; a sister, Marilyn Partney of Bloomfield; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica and David Darling, and Max and Sam Lurie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed Tuesday following the funeral through Thursday evening at her home.
