Anthony L "Tony" Bellegante, age 58 of Mulberry Grove, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Darryl Bolen officiating. The family will welcome friends from 4 p.m. Saturday until service time. For those who desire memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children in St. Louis at the funeral home.

Anthony Lynn Bellegante, the son of Tony Bellegante and Ruth M. Lynn Bellegante, was born on October 31, 1952 in Springfield, Illinois. The family lived in Girard, Illinois for a time. They moved to Arizona for over ten years returning to the Bellegante Farm north of Mulberry Grove when Tony was 14. He graduated from Mulberry Grove High School in 1970. He worked at Caterpiller Tractor in Morton, Illinois for 7 years. He was a Dietary Correctional Supervisor at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro for 15 years. He has been disabled for the past 14 years. Tony and Sandy owned and operated The Bullseye Firearms Sales and Service and Tony was a Master Knife Craftsman. He enjoyed the out of doors, being in nature, hunting ,fishing, and farming with his Dad.

Tony and Sandra Jean Littelle were united in marriage on July 19, 1980 in Peoria, Illinois and have enjoyed over 31 years together. She survives as do their two daughters: Jamie (Scott) Epperson of Greenville, Illinois, Jennifer Stewart of Greenville,Illinois, four grandchildren: Allie Marie Stewart, Arjan Anthony Elezi, Lucas Dean Epperson, and Karlynn Marie Epperson all of Greenville, Illinois, that were the Love of His Life! He played a vital role in the day to day care of his daughters and four grandchildren. Also surviving are his three sisters Maria (Bill) Johnson of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, Sheila (Ronnie) Kissiar, of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, Tina Bellegante, of Vandalia, Illinois, his mother-in-law Shirley Littelle of Meridian, Idaho, 2 sisters-in-laws: Debra (Bob) Lincoln of Charles City, Iowa, Cindy (Robert) Kreidler of Georgetown, Texas, 13 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews, and son-in-law Doug Stewart of Collinsville, Illinois. He is also survived by life long friends Allen and Janet Waters, Mike Rubin, Steve Dugan, and Charlie and JoAnn Coon. Tony is preceded in death by his parents Tony Bellegante in 1999 and Ruth Bellegante in 2007.

Tony will be sadly missed by every life that he has touched, and will remain in the hearts of his loved ones forever. Tony was a very giving person and an Organ Donor at the St. Louis University Hospital Organ Transplant Center in St. Louis, MO.

Tony was a member of the Mulberry Grove Morning Coffee Club, the N.R.A., the American Federation of State Municipal Employees Union, and was of the Roman Catholic faith.
