DEATH OF MRS. R. O. GAINES
Mrs. R. O. Gaines died at the home, apartments in the Clapp building, on Thursday afternoon, October 30th, after a short illness. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. E. Penning- ton, of the Methodist church, were held from the George Berry home, Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Interment was made in Oak Park cemetery. Carlie Berry was born at Abiline, Kansas, on July 24th, 1886, being the
youngest of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. M. Berry. The family moved to Lincoln county during the carly days of this section of Oklahoma and, later, they took up their home in Chandler, where they have since resided.
On July 10th, 1912, Carlie was united in marriage to R. O. Gaines and the two have since resided in Chandler, Mr. Gaines being in the employ of the Oklahoma Natural Gas Co.
Having lived practically all her life in Chandler, deceased had made, and held, the warm friendship of all our people and the news of her death was the cause of almost universal mourning. The funeral was largely attended and the floral tokens were numerous and very beautiful. The bereaved husband, father, mother, brothers and sisters have the sincere sympathy from the whole community.
