Mrs. Matilda E. Aurand.
---Mrs. Matilda E. Aurand, 317 West Hanover Street, passed away at 4:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon at her home, where she had lived for the past twent-seven[sic] years. She had been ill for about six and one-half months.
---Mrs. Aurand was born in St. Mary's, England, June 15, 1851 and came to Marshall when four years old, and located on a farm in Eckford township with her parents. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Randall. She taught school in the rural district several years before her marriage. She was united in marriage to Henry D. Aurand July 4, 1872 in Kalamazoo and moved to Tekonsha township on a farm where they lived until coming to Marshall about thirty-five years ago. Mr. Aurand died May 21, 1933.
---Mrs. Aurand was a former member of the Trinity church and later joined the Baptist church in Maple Grove, where she taught Sunday school for several years.
---Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Eva Allen at home, Mrs. Pearl Mudica and Mrs. Nina Tingay of Marshall townshiy,[sic] and Mrs. Ethel Allen, Tekonsha Twp.; one son Fayette Aurand of Lansing; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
---Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Court funeral home. Friends who wish may call at the residence until 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, when the remains will be taken to the funeral home. Rev. S. J. McCarroll will officiate assisted by Rev. B. D. Sutherland. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery.
