Earl was the son of William Robert & Cora Mae Sapp Kingery. He had one brother, Clyde Everett. Earl served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Bessie Mae Bice on May 11, 1940. They had four sons: Earl Leroy, Larry Dean, Billy Joe, & Jerry Ray. He also had 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Earl Leroy; brother, Everett; and two grandchildren, Jerry II and Sarah.
