LEETONIA -- June 6, Mrs. Kate Whitacre, 93, died Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Raymond Lodge, 455 Somer St.
One of 15 children, she was born in Wayne Township, Feb 15, 1856, the daughter of Jacob and Charity Rice. She was a member of Presbyterian church and Midway Grange. Her husband Judson Whitacre, died 16 years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lodge and Mrs. John Clunen of Leetonia; three sons, George and Terry of Leetonia R. D., and Charles of Alliance; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild a a brother, Wesley Rice of Detroit.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Woods Funeral Home in charge of Rev. William J. Snyder, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening.
