Mrs. W.C Tobin, 65, Dies in Massachusetts
Mrs. J. Curtis Powell was called to Waban, a suburb of Boston, by the illness and death of her sister, Mrs. W. C. Tobin, who passed away early Sunday morning. Much sympathy is felt for Mrs. Powell as this is the third death within a year in her immediate family. A sister, Miss Mae Edwards, who had been living in the Powell home passed away Feb. 17. 1937. Three weeks later her only brother, Fred Edwards of Ilion, died. Mrs. W.C. Tobin, the former Harriett E. Edwards, was born 65 years ago in the town of Trenton, her parents were Hugh and Emily Virmicombe Edwards.
Her early life was spent in East Floyd and Barneveld. She held a position as bookkeeper in Utica at the time of her marriage to William C. Tobin. They resided in Utica and
West Winfield until 22 years ago when they took, up their residence in Waban.
She is survived by her husband; a son Emory, of Endicott; the sister Mrs. Powell. A public prayer service will be held from the Powell home wednesday at 2 o'clock with burial in Olden Barneveld Cemetery. Boonville Herald, Thursday, December 16, 1937
