Pvt. James Marshall Abrams survived the torpedoing & sinking of the troopship "Tuscania" on 5 February 1918 in the North Channel between Scotland & Ireland by German submarine UB-77.

He returned from World War I aboard the "Louisville" in May 1919 as a sergeant in the 337th Bakery Company.

On the "Tuscania," he listed his father, James T. Abrams, RFD 1, Fort Worth, Texas, as his next-of-kin. On his return voyage, he listed his sister, Miss Maud Keren, 414 East 2nd Street, Fort Worth Texas
