Funeral services for Oscar Golden, 72, Borger, were at 10 a.m. today at the Church of God with the Rev. L.K. Lawley, pastor, officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Ark. Burial will be by Brown Funeral Directors.

Mr. Golden died Saturday, April 20, 1996 in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

A native of Langley, Ark., he had been a Borger resident for 39 years. He was a heavy equipment operator for Missouri Valley Construction, and a member of the Church of God.

Mr. Golden was a World War II Army veteran serving in China, Burma, and India Campaigns.

He married Bonnie Pate on Aug. 23, 1946 in Wenatchee, Wash.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Golden in 1975.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rickey Golden and Mickey Golden, both of Borger; a daughter, Janis Barker of Weatherford, Texas; three brothers, Isaac Golden of Umpire, Ark.; Earl Golden and Floyd Golden, both of Dierks, Ark.; a sister, Geneva Jarvis of Stinnett; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers were Cecil Hopkins, Jimmy Hopkins, Howard Aylor, M.C. Armstrong, Jerry Smith, and Stacy Smith.
