Evelyn attended school in Green Springs for two years and then went to school in Old Fort, Ohio, graduating in 1932. She did housework for various families until her marriage in 1935. She remained at home full time until her girls were well along in school. She then worked for the Green Springs Public School for three years as a cafeteria cook. Next she was a switchboard operator at Green Springs for the Northwestern Telephone Company until they moved to Bellevue. For two years she was a clerk at the Firestone store in Bellevue. In 1958 she retired from the business world and became a full time homemaker once more.
