ISHPEMING - Robert P. "Pep" Pepin, age 74 of 6155 Co. Rd. PB, Ishpeming passed away on Thursday June 1, 2006 at the Bell Memorial Hospital. He had been in ill health for the past couple of years.
Robert was born July 21, 1931 in North Lake Location the son of the late Adelore and Alice (Isabelle) Pepin. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, having received the Korean Service Medal. Robert worked for various employers, mainly as a truck driver, retiring from Holli Forest Products in 1995. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post #114. He enjoyed spending time on his computer, and going for rides to visit family. He loved to pass his time in his flower garden, and was also known as a great cook.
Survivors include 3 daughters - Pamela (Marvin) Evans of Ishpeming, Alice (Don) Magnuson of Champion, and Peggy (Mike) Kuzda of Ishpeming; 5 sons - Michael (Jane) Pepin of Ishpeming, Robert (Cindy) Pepin of Chaparral, NM, Tim (Coleen) Pepin of Champion, David (Peggy) Pepin of Ishpeming and Chris (Kathy) Pepin of Ishpeming; a special niece Kelly Chesney of Chicago, Il; 2 sisters - Jeanne (Arthur) Staciec and Helen Grzenia both of Chicago, IL; a brother David (Liz) Pepin of Pretty Prairie, KS; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law - Irma sharp, June Kirtly, Betty Logan, and Verona Wehmanen; 4 brothers-in-law - Bruce, Bernhart, Steven and Daniel Hill; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine in 2002, an infant daughter Sandra, 2 brothers - George and Donald Pepin and a grandson Michael Skogman.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday June 6, 2006 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Virginia Eggert to officiate. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee Twp.
Friends may call at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home from 3:00pm until the time of services on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Dennis & Tony Tonge, Corey Magnuson, Christopher Pepin, Scott Luci and Bill Tonge.
A luncheon will follow at the Faith Lutheran Church, Co. Rd. 581, Ishpeming.
