Rev. Loren C. Hawver, 78, a resident of the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, and former pastor of Baptist churches throughout the area, including West Edmeston, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 22, at the Home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 25, at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford, with Rev. Kenneth Robb president of the Practical Bible Training School, Bible School Park, officiating. Burial was made in Allen Cemetery, Glen Aubrey, where graveside services were conducted. An ordained Baptist clergyman, Mr. Hawver had attended and graduated from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pa., and the. Practical Bible Training School. He had served churches in Hallstead and Oxford Pa., Harpursville, West Colesville, West Davenport, West Edmeston, Moravia, Mt. Vision and Oneonta, He was a veteran of World War. I. ; Surviving are his. wife, Mrs; Rena Hawver, Oxford; a son, Wilbert Hawver, Moravia; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Eva) Twining, Endicott, and Mrs. Louis (Edna) Cronk of Endicott two grandchildren; two great grandchildren, a niece and three nephews.
