Wife of Gilman Hill. She re-founded the Rochester Historical Society in 1887, which had been suspended and then abandoned during the Civil War. The RHS was originally founded in 1860 by anthropologist Lewis Henry Morgan and publisher Henry O'Reilly, and is still active today.
