BUTLER: RUBY GENEVA BARTON, 80, formerly of Elm Street, Butler died Friday afternoon, June 20, 2008 in Crystal Care Center, Mansfield, following a long illness.

She was born December 13, 1927 in Swords Creek, Virginia to Chris and Elizabeth Dye.

Moving to the Richland County area in 1953, Ruby worked as an assembler for the former Hamilton Standard, later to become the Essex Wire Company. She retired after working there 22 years.

Ruby attended Bunker Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother-in-law and his wife Ira and Treva Shelton of Mansfield, sisters-in-law Oma Goodman of Butler and Frances Lowe of Bellville, a sister-in-law and her husband Barbara and John Faber of Sunbury, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carson C. Barton on December 1, 1974, her son Steve Barton and two sisters Lillian Casey and Ruth Sampsel.

Friends may call Monday, June 23, 2008 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
