Philip Cleary, Odell, dies
Philip P. Cleary, 77, died today at St. james Hospital following an illness of several months. The funeral will be Wednesday in St. Paul's Catholic church with burial in St. Paul Cemetery. Mr. Cleary was born June 19, 1893, in Nevada Township, a son of Lawrence and Mary (Lyons) Cleary. He was educated in Odell schools. He married Margaret Craven in Odell on Feb. 1, 1917. She died August 22, 1946. He later married Anna Hollstein in Waukegan on August 23, 1947. He was a retired farmer and Angus breeder. Mr. Cleary was a member of St. Paul's Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Pontiac Elks Club. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Watkins of Waterman, Mrs. Virginia Duprey of Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Regina Belmore of Rapid City, SD, Mrs. betty Bool of Phoenix, AZ and Mrs. Anne Brown of Orange, CA; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Philip, who was killed in World War II and six brothers and four sisters.
