Ottumwa - Rexell "Rex" Leroy Christy, 75 of Ottumwa Route 6 died at 9:30pm December 28, 1994, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born June 8, 1919 in Laddsdale to Alva and Laura Stater Christy. He married Arlene Mooney on May 9, 1969, in Lancaster, Missouri.
He was World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, Red Bull Division , 133rd Infantry. He had spent 21 years in the radiator repair business and was the owner of Ottumwa Radiator. After selling his business, he worked for 10 years at Ottumwa Camping Center.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Terry L. Christy of Ottumwa; two daughters, Nancy Fator of Vacaville, California, and Linda Ancell of Ottumwa; a stepson, Steve Mooney of Cedar Rapids; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Wallace of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Christy of Ottumwa, and a sister, Marvel Shoemaker of Ottumwa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
The service will be 10am Saturday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. John Freeman of First Church of the Open Bible officiating. Burial with military rites by American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa.
Paulbearers will be Charlie Ancell, Mike Terrell, Roger Scales, Gary Hinkel, Russell and Phil McMillan.
Visitation will begin after 9am today at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6 to 8pm.
Memorials may be made to the family's choice.

He had also been married to Geraldine Curry on November 17, 1945.
