PFC Oberleitner was 20 years old when he was killed in Iraq. He was in the United States Army. Anyone with information on PFC Oberleitner e-mail me at [email protected].Army Pfc. Oberleitner was assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Branden had survived fighting on the streets of Baghdad and had seen conflict in Mosul only to be ambushed after the major combat was over. He and his unit had just finished a midnight patrol of an area of town and were loading up into the trucks to go back to base when they were ambushed with RPG and small arms fire. The attack also wounded other soldiers. Branden's time overseas included a deployment which started in Kuwait, then to FOB Exxon, Najaf, Karbala, Baghdad, Mosul and Fallujah. In addition, he was sent on other short side missions. Branden was kindhearted and always went his own way. He became passionate about military service - that's all he wanted to do.

Thanks to Spc R. Shrode, U.S. Army (Retired) for additional information.
