Ella M. Webb (nee Donelson), 95, of Salem and formerly of Bridgeton departed this life to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, Dec. 18, 2010, at her daughter's home.
Born Jan. 25, 1915, in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Linwood and Jennie (nee Schrier) Donelson. She attended the Canton School and Salem High School.
For many years, Mrs. Webb worked at Lynch's Grocery in Bridgeton and later at Main Line Delicatessen on Route 49. She greeted her customers courteously and exemplified the phrase, "She never met a stranger." Her most important role, however, was that of homemaker and mother.
She was a member of the Berean Baptist Temple all her adult life. In addition, Ella enjoyed doing "word search" puzzles, watching game shows and, when her health permitted, taking long walks. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a warm and loving mother and a good friend to all.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Martin L. "Dutch" Webb, who died on Nov. 9, 1984.
Ella is survived by two daughters. She is also survived by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Frank "Tommy" Donelson; and a sister, Elizabeth Richey.
