ROCHELLE - M. D. Brown, age 77, of Rochelle passed away Tuesday in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 3P.M. in the Morningside Cemetery in Rochelle. The Rev. Jim Wiley and Rev. John Foxworth will officiate.
Mr. Brown was born in Owensboro January 12, 1926. He was son of the late David Fredrick Brown and Minneye Luke Brown. He was a farmer, WWII Army Veteran, member and deacon of The First Baptist Church of Rochelle where he was a former Sunday School Director and Teacher, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Wilcox County State Bank with 31 years of service, the Wilcox County Farm Bureau, and the American Legion Wilcox Post No. 71. He was a former Volunteer E.M.T. with the Wilcox County Ambulance Service and former chairman and member of the Wilcox County Board of Commissioners with 28 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Betty F. Brown of Rochelle; sons, Dr. Joseph O. (Alice) Moore of Hillsborough, NC, M. David (Jan) Brown of Owensboro, Royal F. Brown of Rochelle and Freddy (Glenda) Brown of Rochelle; sister, Myra B. (Bobby) McGuinty of Rochelle; grandchildren, Laura Moore, Kelly Moore, Andrea Moore, Madison Brown, Luke Brown, Caroline Brown, Argent Brown and Victoria Brown.
Visitation 10:30 until 11:30 A.M., Thursday in the funeral home. Family may be contacted at the residence 375 Lee Street in Rochelle.
