Gijsbertus Johannes SCHÜSSLER was born on December 2th.1925 in NIJKERK in HOLLAND.
After He finished His Training at the Institute for Infantry Officers in BREDA in HOLLAND,followed promotion to Second Lieutenant on January 2th.1948.
On April 21th.1972 He was promoted to Lieutant-Colonel and He retired on March 19th.1981.
For very brave actions in the fights with Terrorists and Excellent Leadership in the DUTCH EAST-INDIES in the year 1949,He received by Oueen Juliana's Order #6 of August 24th.1950 the Highest Military Honor DECORATION "De Militaire Willems-Orde 4e Klasse"(Nickname MWO).
Even High Rank Officers like Admirals and Generals have to Salut the Bearer of this Medal of Honor!
He died,76 years old,December 4th.2001 in His Hometown NIJKERK in HOLLAND.
He is buried on the Cemetery"Algemene Begraafplaats" in NIJKERK.
Rest in Peace. RUST IN VREDE KOLONEL.
