Willis Dotson

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Eugene for Willis F. Dotson of Eugene, who died Sept. 16 of age-related causes. He was 89.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene. A reception will follow the Mass.

He was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Eugene to Frederick and Winnifred Willis Dotson. He married Pearl Higgins on March 23, 1946, in Eugene.

He graduated from St. Mary's High School and attended the University of Oregon.

He served in the U.S. Army in New Guinea during World War II. He worked as line superintendent for Eugene Water & Electric Board at his retirement.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Frederick of Eagle Point and Robert of Eugene; a daughter, Julie Dotson of Bend; a brother, Rod of Portland; a sister, Carol Scribner of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Eugene Pioneer Cemetery.
