The body of Mrs. Leticia Parker, 78, who lived on Alby street for many years with her first husband, William Whiteside, whom she married on July 28, 1894 in Calhoun County, will be brought to Alton, where funeral rites and interment will take place.

Mrs. Parker, a resident of Rockford for 24 years, died in the Rockford Hospital at 6 a.m. Tuesday. She was a daughter of the late Randall Raines and Alice Walker, and was born in Walkerville, July 15, 1878.

She was married June 8, 1935 to Vilas Parker, who survives. Ill for the past three years at Sunnyside Farm, Mrs. Parker had been bedfast for six weeks.

She also is survived by six daughters, and two sons, Mrs. Edward McKinney, Sarasota, Fla.; Mrs. Ed Randle, Toledo, Ohio; Floyd Whiteman, Godfrey; Mrs. Guy (Neita) Darr, Mrs. Harold Ventress, Mrs. Paul Montgomery, Mrs. Lyma Weiggler and Lee Whiteside, all of Alton; three stepchildren, DuWayne and Philo Parker, Rockford, and Mrs. Lueva (Harold) Brauer, Winnebago, Ill.; 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ottie Fields, Moro.

Mrs. Parker was a member of the First Christian Church, Rockford.

Funeral rites in Smith Funeral Home, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park. The Rev. Earl F. Stover, pastor of First Christian Church, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday.

Born July 15, 1878 in Carrollton, Ill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Raines. Lived one year in Winnebago, coming here from Siren, Wis. Married to Vilas Parker in Rockford, June 8, 1935. Member of Presbyterian church in Ashton. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. Survivors include: husband; two sons, Lee Whiteside, Alton, Lloyd Whiteside, Godfrey; six daughters, Mrs. Edith Montgomery, Mrs. Gladys Ventress, Mrs. Lima Weigler, and Mrs. Neita Darr, all of Alton; Mrs. Ada McKinnie, Sarasota, Fla., and Mrs. Mildred Randall, Toledo, Ohio; two stepsons, Philo Parker and DuWayne Parker, Rockford; one stepdaughter Mrs. Lueva Brauer, Winnebago; seven stepgrandchildren; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ottie Fields, Madora, Ill. Services at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Julian Poorman Funeral Home, 304 N. 5th St., with the Rev. Elmer Whyte, pastor of Presbyterian Church of Winnebago, officiating. Burial and services in Valhalla Memorial Park, Alton, Friday afternoon.
