Edmond Samuel Hines, age 78, of Anderson, Missouri, was called to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 15, 2011, following a lengthy illness. Edmond aka "Ed" as known to family and friends was born on August 25, 1932, in Roy, Harding County, New Mexico, being the youngest son of Sam Hines and Ella Rosenbaum Hines. He was the grandson of Charles Albert Hines and Minerva Jane Barnett Hines together with Henry and Margaret Rosenbaum. As an infant Ed traveled to Missouri with his parents and siblings. He was the youngest son out of ten children. Ed spent most of his adolescence years in the Cyclone/Powell communities of McDonald County, Missouri. Ed attended school at Lone Star, Poplar Hill and King's Valley school.

Ed's passions in life were his garden and being in the timber since the age of 13 years old. Ed and Julia owned, remodeled and operated the lone store at Beantown, USA. He would buy 40 pounds of bananas to display in the store picture window, and sell his fruit for fifteen cents a pound or two pounds for twenty-five cents. Toward the end of a stalk if there were a few bananas left he and Julia would give the rest of the bananas away to their customers. Ed & Julia built the Mustang Drive-In (now Mary Dean's Cafe) and managed it for five years before selling it and moving west of Anderson.

Ed, together with his family operated a conventional poultry farm for 13 years, but he always remained faithful to the timber and his love for the land. Before settling in Missouri, Ed, with his family by his side, had worked in Oregon, Colorado, and Kansas City, Missouri.

For the past 40 years Ed lived west of Anderson with his loving, devoted wife, Julia Mae Mustain Hines. Ed and Julia were married on January 6, 1951, in Pineville, McDonald County, Missouri by Reverend Johnny Williams. They honeymooned at the Flick Theater in Anderson. Ed and Julia had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past January.

To their union three daughters were born.
Edmond was baptized when he was a teenager in Granny's Branch. Ed was a member of the First Christian Church of Anderson, for the past 35 years, with fellowship in Pineville Christian Church before serving at First Christian in Anderson.

Edmond was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ella Hines; two sisters, Dorothy Mustain and Mary Hines; three brothers, Oren W. Hines, Waymound Hines and Charles H. Hines along with many close relatives, with the most recent being his nephew, Edmond Richard Mustain, who was Edmond's namesake. Edmond's wife, Julia Mae Hines, survives of the home. Additional survivors include his three daughters, Linna Louise Renner and husband, Steve, Kathy Diane Turner and husband, Dewayne R. and Kandy Sue Sultzer and husband, Leroy, all of Anderson, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Russell Renner and wife, Cindy, Tammy Roberts and husband, Anthony, Clint Renner and wife, Holly, all of Anderson, Missouri, David Renner and wife, Andrea, of Neosho, Missouri, Deanna Billings and husband, Larry, of Maryville, Illinois, Daniel Turner, and wife, Erin, of Joplin, Missouri, Blake Sultzer and sister, Kasandra Sultzer, of Anderson, also, Amon Yargee, grandson, of Anderson.
