NEW WATERFORD — Dora Mae Whittington, of 3393 Pinewood Drive, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 19th, 2007, following a lengthy battle with cancer, with her sons, loved ones, and family by her side.

Dora Mae was born May 18, 1942, in Signal, a daughter of the late Frank W. and Elsie Mae Seevers Hawkins, and was a life resident of the area.

She was preceded by death by three sisters, Thelma Jean Hawkins, Edna Marie Wright and Virginia "Jenny" Straub.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Whittington, Jr., and his fiancée, Tina Devich, of Massillon, and Bradley A. Whittington, and his wife, Dolores, of East Palestine. Dora Mae also leaves four brothers, Ray Hawkins, Lisbon, Frank "Eve" Hawkins, Warren, James L. and Sally Hawkins, Lisbon, and Russell A. and Janie Hawkins, also of Lisbon, and two sisters, Linda Kelly of Columbiana and Nancy Wright, North Carolina. Three grandsons also survive, Dustin, T.J., and Dylan, as do two granddaughters, Nickie and Stephanie, and one great-granddaughter, Katilyn, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Rogers Assembly of God, with the Rev. Paul Wright officiating, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.. Burial will be in Middleton Cemetery.

Arrangements were with the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home., East Palestine.
