Born in Edgar, WI, she was the daughter of Otto and Elizabeth (Roeder) Lang. She married Gerald "Gerry" Wakitsch on May 24, 1941 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Feb 14, 1985. Survivors are two daughters, Janice Bartmann and Mary Lou Olson; five sons Rick, Thomas, Robert, Joel and Randall; five sisters Jean Bennett, Elaine Sikora, Grace Polecastro, Betty Muse and Joyce Galvin; two brothers Warren and Donald Lang. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lorraine Kok
