George W. Cambras, 84, passed away peacefully at his home with his daughters at his side Aug. 10, 2011. George was a loving and faithful husband, father and grandfather. Originally from Connecticut, he worked in his family's candy store business and later for Carpenter Steel as an inspector before retiring to Florida. He served in the Navy during World War II. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan.

Survivors include his daughters, Georgiann Meole (husband Alex), Christine Grega (husband Michael); sister, Catherine Puffer; and grandchildren, Anastasia and Alexander Meole; as well as several nieces and nephews. George was known for his wonderful sense of humor and warm smile. He will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Craig Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, followed by burial at San Lorenzo Cemetery.

Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
