Ashley C. Wagner, 75, of 11630 Schad Road, Kiel, died Tuesday eveining, June 22, 1999 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children.
He was born June 18, 1924 in the town of Rockland, son of the late Theodore and Minnie Wegner Wagner. On Sept. 11, 1946 he married Laura Koenig at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Spring Valley.
For 11 years he worked at Nestle’s Co., Valders. Prior to Ashley’s retirement in 1987 he worked at Kohler Co. for 32 years. He was also Constable for the Town of Schleswig for 30 years and a Manitowoc County Sheriff Deputy for 30 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic church, School Hill.
Ashley was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed his hobby farm and his greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Laura; two sons, Dale (Brenda) Wagner of St. Anna and Eugene (Jerri) Wagner of New Holstein; four daughters, Vicky (Robert) Schweitzer of Kiel, Barbara (Daniel) Kienbaum of Kiel, Nancy (Robert) Schneider of New Holstein and Diane (Vern) Schmitz of New Holstein; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, one brother, Henry R. Wagner of School Hill, one brother-in-law, Donald Schmitt and two sisters-in-law, Carmen Wagner and Lucille Wagner. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill with the Rev. Gerald Sirois S.D.S. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
