Thomas and Elizabeth spent the early part of their married life in Kentucky, then emigrated to Rush County, Indiana. In 1825, Thomas purchased 80 acres of land from the government in Rush County. An original land grant dated 12/19/1825 recorded original land grant book 1 Sept 1828. He owned other land in Rush County. Between 1840 and 1845, Thomas and Elizabeth with family moved to Grundy County, Missouri where he owned land in 1853. Their remains lie side by side in the Bratton Cemetery, about two miles north of Hickory, Missouri. The graves are marked with two native stones, standing erect without inscriptions.

The Bratton graveyard is about a mile north west of the old Turner place. Old Turner place in Trenton, MO was owned by Ellen (Metzger who could be related to Baltis family) and Julian Whitney about 1959. The older Turner family's made a brick for nearly all the old brick buildings in early Trenton, MO. Some of the old ruins and pit and brick bats were still there in Hickory in the 1930s. Dr. Everett Allen used to doctor the owners family John Metczsker. John's wife lived to 94 or 95 but died a year or so before 1959. If you are ever up through Hickory, MO go to Sadie (Turner) Dunn and Ben Dunn's about 2 miles S.W. of Hickory close to where Alford Turner lived. In 1959 Kelly Metczesker still lived or owns the old Turner place where they made bricks. When Everett ALLEN was 17 or 18 he stayed with his Uncle John Turner and worked on building the R.I.R.R. to Jamesport. John Turner lived on N.E. corner of the place over by Wolf Creak. (Rock Island Rail Road)

Thomas TURNER would have been the great-grandfather of Everett ALLEN MD.
