BRANDON - James E. Cummins, 73, owner and operator of Cummins Sand & Gravel, died of cancer Sunday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Doty Springs Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Doty Springs Cemetery. Jordan Funeral Home of Kosciusko has charge. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was captain of the Shriners' go-cart unit. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Cummins, the husband of Mildred T. Cummins, also leaves three daughters, Rebecca Whittington of McCool, Judy Alderman of Kosciusko and Shirley Miller of Jackson, Tenn.; four sons, Gary Cummins of Kosciusko, Roy Cummins of Clarksdale, Ark., Jimmy Kemp of Franklin, Tenn., and Jan Kemp of Beebe, Ark.; two sisters, Marcelene Trim of Jackson, Miss., and Jerelene Walker of Brandon, and 12 grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be made to Hospice of Central Mississippi.
